DAY VISITS

  • Most guests drive with free parking available onsite. PLEASE NOTE - ride shares (Uber/Lyft) do not accept requests from Krause Springs back into Austin so please make accommodations in advance for your return.

  • We are temporarily closed during the winter — usually between November 1st and February 15th — for property improvements and much needed rest. We never close due to drought like other nearby natural pools.

  • We are open 9am-8pm, 7 days a week. Anyone arriving after 8pm will not be allowed to enter (or re-enter) the property. This is for the safety of our overnight guests. If you call the office and no one answers, please leave a message.

  • The springs that feed our pools flow constantly all year round at roughly 68 degrees, even during times of extreme drought. After heavy rains, our pools and property drain very efficiently into Lake Travis. Both our manmade and natural pools have some of the cleanest natural Texas spring water flowing through it so water never become stagnant and is swimmable year-round.

  • We love our pets, just as much as you do - but, please keep them at home. Service animals are OK and approval from management is required, and vaccinations must be current. A leash and bag must be used when walking, and clean up is your responsibility. Animals must be accompanied by owner when outside. Tying and tethering is not permitted. Animals are not allowed in restrooms. No washing of animal blankets or beds in restroom facilities or pools.

  • We recommend bringing:

    • Cash

    • Refreshments (non glass containers)

    • Snacks

    • Water shoes or slip-proof shoes (the ground and rocks get slick!)

    • Floats or inner tubes (no larger than 5’)

    • Sunscreen

    • Camera (we love seeing your photos)

    • Trash bag

Please help us keep Krause Springs beautiful by discarding any trash in our barrels located throughout the property or by taking it with you when you leave.

  • For current burn ban information, visit: http://www.burnetcountytexas.org/default.aspx?name=environ.burn

  • Our staff clean the upper pool every Thursday at 5pm allowing our guests to continue to enjoy the lower natural pool at all times.

  • There are BBQ pits in the day use area. You may also bring your own BBQ pit as long as it does not sit on the ground. You can bring your own firewood or purchase a bundle from our office.

  • We do not rent tubes so please bring your own tube or other flotation device. We have an air pump available onsite for use. Small kayaks (smaller than 5’) are allowed for the lower natural pool. Please note - it may be hard to maneuver larger ones during the busy summer weekends. You can also bring bikes but there are not any formal bike trails or paved roles on the property.

  • Our springs are supposed to be a place of peace and relaxation. For that reason, we do not allow open carry of weapons on our property.

  • You can fish on the lower parts of our property where the springs drain into Little Cypress Creek which drains into Lake Travis. No fishing in the pools.

OVERNIGHT

  • Bathroom facilities are complete with sinks, stalls and showers. All showers use fresh spring water and are not heated.

  • You can reserve an RV site anytime by clicking the link here: https://www.roverpass.com/c/krause-springs-spicewood-tx/.

  • We only allow primitive tent camping on RV sites #1-6 which are specifically dedicated to those wanting direct access to power and water for an additional fee. Otherwise, tent camping is allowed throughout the property: East, Second Level and Third Level Campgrounds. Please refer to our area map for more details.

  • Yes, you are free to come and go as you please during regular business hours (9am-8pm). However, the gates close promptly at 8pm and you will not be allowed back in until the morning. This is for the safety of all our overnight guests.
